Census Day And Daffodil Season In Our Canalside Cutting Garden

Its census day in fierceblooms canalside cutting garden and Spring and daffodil season gets underway in the fine weather this week in the UK. Although our British flowers are all safely accounted for our four-legged and feathered friends remain problematic though loved.

Completing our UK census 2021 yesterday as the daffodils swayed, I wasn’t too sure …..where to categorise a few other notable residents like the mice and the moles.

The swans were asking about their pecking order…. in our household, given it was mainly board with no bed required.

And the rooks? Well, they were wondering if staying in the chimney constituted an overnight stay, or if the fact that they were mostly in the farms next door chimney would mean they’d be counted there.

And, I hear you cry, what about the 2 humans? Well, they are gathering home grown flowers and enjoying daffodil season in the cut flower garden, just because….

A 19th century historic wharf and Cheshire canalside cutting garden is the inspiration for our wild garden style ethos. I root my floral design in every precious fleeting seasonal moment, growing and creating only ever with local seasonal scented British flowers.

If sustainability matters to you, if you care that floral creations are as kind to the environment as they are beautiful, then I am a kindred spirit.

We share our artisan florals in our live online virtual flower classes, and with our flowers, create bouquets and undertake a few intimate Cheshire weddings a year.

Online Flower Class Testimonial

The wreath class on Sunday was excellent. It was fascinating to watch your technique step by step, to hear you explain so carefully how passionate you are about sustainability, and always so cheerfully and with such an appreciation for nature.
