Dreaming Of A Wild Garden Style Spring

Summary

As January turns, Fierceblooms dreams of a wild garden style Spring – an encouragement to get outside and do those important garden jobs.

Our local garden grown British cut flowers are a twinkle in my minds eye right now but already I am dreaming of a wild garden style spring.

Last year, the tree branches were dancing in the winter weather, all whoosing and wild. This year, there is still and fog and ice cold sodden soil in our winter flower cutting garden.

As the last few days of January end, I am reminded that nothing lasts forever. Not the dark, not the damp, or anything else for that matter. This is the point you have to keep the faith in your frozen, muddy cut flower garden. This is the point you dream of spring.

We are busy though in the garden we grow our local Cheshire flowers. Winter is the time I remind myself of the advantage of creating dried everlasting flowers in our still draughty 19th century Cheshire Wharf. Our cutting garden, which inspires our wild garden style, may be resting but we are excited and getting everything ready for the new wild garden style spring season.

The worms are already working in our new “no dig” beds. The autumn sown sweet peas are yearning to be planted out, while other sweet peas will be sown now, and more later to have scented sustainable flowers all summer long. Patience and timing are key to a successful seed germination and plants surviving in the wild cut flower garden.

We continue to honour our environmental floral principles by never using anything flown in. We’ll be using our garden grown British cut flowers to create and craft, to commune and communicate. The fierce endeavour remains to always only ever British cut flowers and in our online classes, live broadcasted from our 19th century Wharf. We are heartened by the interest and support that feels stronger every year for scented, seasonal sustainable florals for our Cheshire weddings.

About

We're an environmentally conscious local floral business rooted in our wild Cheshire canal side cut flower garden, inspiring our weddings, workshops and creative digital online classes. If sustainability matters to you, if you care that floral creations are as kind to the environment as they are beautiful, then I am a kindred spirit.

Online Floral Classes

Always, our fierce focus in our unique online classes is to share how we create our signature "Wild garden Style" floral designs using local, scented, seasonal and sustainable flowers.

In fact. we only ever use local, garden grown (in our case) British flowers. Our desire is in every class to inspire you to create your own planet friendly, environmentally conscious floral designs using ingredients that reflect your season, your flora and your locale.

Rather than a constraint, we believe creating with your own seasonal garden grown flowers encourages you to make floral art that truly embodies your own unique floral signature.

2023 will be our 4th season of live online classes.  We look forward to continued conversations with sustainable floral enthusiasts from the far flung Scotland Highlands, down to Devon and Cornwall, across to Wales, and way beyond to North America, Australia, New Zealand. Online Flower Class Testimonial

The wreath class on Sunday was excellent. It was fascinating to watch your technique step by step, to hear you explain so carefully how passionate you are about sustainability, and always so cheerfully and with such an appreciation for nature.
