The weather was perfect. It had been one of those rare hot days that had turned into a beautiful balmy British evening. The village was buzzing with excitement and expectation. The pub had been taken over for the entire Saturday evening to celebrate 2 rather significant birthdays.

It is sometimes tricky to think of what to buy for these occasions. I do think though it is rather lovely to give the gift of your floral art – and hope they like it!

It had been one of those rare hot days that had turned into a beautiful balmy British evening.

One was to be feminine and fun but with a very country chic feel. The other more masculine, by definition a bit more difficult to achieve.

I chose voluptuous all for love roses and saponaria, with its tiny pink flowers, it made all the difference to the design. Over time, I have decided that it is the small details that really can make or break a design. Chrysanthemums were used for the boy’s arrangement adding a sturdier less ethereal feel. The foliage included soft ruscus, arachnids (that’s leather leaf to you and I) and eucalyptus parvi giving a nice textured feel to the base.

One was to be feminine and fun but with a very country chic feel. The other more masculine, by definition a bit more difficult to achieve.

Another rather special person arrived that evening and I was beyond delighted to have my picture taken with him.

Birthdays are a symbol of our passing time and even without a significant “0” they are to be celebrated. Blooms are quite the perfect gift, even if I am slightly biased. It was quite the most magical night.
